Customs 24 Hours Rule Regulation in

CSCL would like to inform you that the 24 Hours Rule Regulation which has already been implemented in US and CA will be taken effect in
To comply with this regulation, all customers of CSCL are responsible for providing the following manifest data before deadline time which would be broadcasted by CSCL local agent:
1. Name and complete address of the shipper, consignee, and the person who shall be notified of the arrival, as stated in the bill of lading.
2. Amount merchandise and measurement unit. If the merchandise is carried in containers, the amount and measurement unit shall also be specified for each container.
3. Gross weight or volume of the merchandise. For merchandise transported in containers, the gross weight or volume shall also be specified for each container.
4. Merchandise description, avoiding general descriptions that do not allow proper identification of the nature of the merchandise; such as: “general cargo” “dry cargo” “chemical products”; “chemicals” “perishable food” “bulk cargo” “mineral bulk” “clothing” or any other ambiguous description of a product.
5. Seal number(s) for each container.
6. In case of dangerous merchandise, state class, division and United Nation number, as well as a telephone number for emergencies
7. According to the Mexican 24 hours rule, freight forwarders and NVOS must file their House Bills of Lading themvselves. It is not allowed to Shipping lines to transmit House Bs/Ls
8. All NVOS and FF must obtain a sort of SCAC code, called locally CAAT, for this you need ask your mexican representatives to follow the corresponding procedures with MEX Customs Authorities
9. To document their House Bs/L NVOS and FF will need CSCL CAAT codes and M bill number.
